Christmas Day...

Jake woke up about 6am. Adam heard him and soon came in our bedroom running shouting "Father Christmas has been, he has filled up my stocking right to the top!". He was so excited to see all the presents around the tree. he knew straight away that the biggest box was for him. He was very pleased to see that he had got his playmobil 's castle! He was so pleased with his gameboy too!
Our little Father Christmas Jake loved touching all the presents and had to climbed over them to play with the tree! He seemed to love it!

As expected, Jake played with all the empty boxes before he even looked at his own presents!
We all had a lovely meal and relaxed watching TV and playing with all the new toys...

Christmas Eve...

I love that feeling on Christmas Eve when everything is ready: all the presents are wrapped, the food is on the fridge...
Today has been a lovely relaxing day. I have baked some fresh mince pies and I have chilled out.

Tonight we went to ours neighbours Jason, Ria and Tom for a Christmas drink. We had a lovely time.
When we got home Adam sprinkled the special reindeer's food that he bought at his school's Christmas bazaar. It is supposed to attract the reindeer so father Christmas stopped at the home. Adam also put a mince pie, a glass of cherry, a glass of milk and a carrot. He is so excited...I am sure Father Christmas will be here soon so I also need to go to bed...just in case he has lots of presents for me!!!

One..Two..Christmas Trees...

When I was little, I used to have a white Christmas tree in my bedroom. I used to go to sleep watching the tree every night. On Christmas eve, I used to sleep on the floor next to my tree waiting for Santa. I loved my little tree which made it all special to me. So this year, I decided to get a little white Christmas tree for Adam' bedroom. He was so excited when he saw it. we decorated the tree together and every single night, he put the lights on to go to sleep. It makes me happy for him to think that he might have the sweet dreams about his tree that I had years ago....
Adam and Oliver posing in front of the tree with Franky Frog...

Yesterday afternoon, Martin had some time off to go to Adam's school Bazaar. After, they went to buy a Christmas tree...and today we finally decorated the tree! Adam was so excited about putting all the decorations up. Jake was not too sure at first when he saw the tree in the lounge. After a little feel of the tree, he loved it especially with the lights and decorations on!!!!
Jake loves riding his rocking horse touching the tree and trying to get off a bauble!!!
I love sitting down in the evening watching TV with all the Christmas lights on...how lovely!

We have had a special visitor to come and see our tree...he came on his rocking horse playing the flute...who could it be...It is our little Santa Jake!! He looks so cute in his Santa outfit especially when he is standing up with his fat little Tommy!!!

Merry Christmas...

Teacher's present...

After decorating a tin at Scrap-a-ganza, my friend Sue suggested that I should decorate some for the teachers at Adam's school...so I did it! I really enjoyed using inks to decorate the tins and cut the word "Noel " out of the new Basics Grey paper. I was very pleased with the results. Adam was very proud to take the two tins in. I filled them up with chocolates!

Thank you...

Today Iwent to collect my new toaster. I would like to say Thank you to a secret Santa who bought me a lovely Dualit toaster for Christmas. I have always wanted one...it looks so lovely in my kitchen.
Thank you Santa!!!

A bit of Chemistry....

At work somebody received some samples in a box packed with dried ice...so we had a bit of fun with it!! The dried ice in warm water creates a lovely white smoke as you can see!!!

Here I am in the lab posing for a few photos!!!

We tried to put a massive piece of it in the sink but we had to stop before I could get a good photo as we had some visitors wondering around the lab!!!!

Happy Birthday Kerry!!!

Last Night a few of us from work went out to Prezzo in Maldon for Kerry's Birthday! It was very busy as it was the Victorians evening in Maldon. I have never seen the High Street so busy!
We had a lovely time. Kerry got lots of lovely presents, she was very pleased with her all pink scrapbooking tote!!! It will go so well with her new pink scrapbooking suitcase!!!
After a lovely meal, we went for a quick drink in a pub called the Carpenters. I had not been in there for so long!!!
As always we took a few silly photos!!!

Chocolate Cake...

On Sunday, we went round Steve and Louise so Oliver, Adam and Phoebe could decorate the Christmas tree together. They had so much fun. We were drinking muled wine and eating mince pies watching them. We had diner together and Jake enjoyed two chocolate cakes! He loved it....but what a mess he made!!

Who has been eating chocolate???....

Baby Jake with his cheeky chocolate face!

Maman...

My mum came over and stayed for 10 days. It was lovely to have her for that long. I was working some of the days she was here. Jake had a chest infection so he could not go to nursery so my mum looked after him...it was lucky she was here otherwise I would have had to take some time off work! Jake is much better now. Martin made a steak and kidney pudding one night and it was so yummy!! Look at him all proud!!!

My mum brought some cheese over so we had a lovely "Fondue Savoyarde" (cheese fondue). Adam loved it.

On the Thursday, we went to Colchester to do a bit of Christmas shopping. I was very pleased as I managed to finish my Christmas shopping. On the Friday, we wrapped up all the presents. It was nice for me to have a Little Santa Helper!!! It is more fun!

My mum got me a lovely bouquet of flowers from my favorite florist in Maldon called "Funky Flower". They are lovely!

Merci Maman...

14 Days til Christmas...

Still 14 days to go until Christmas and I am all ready!!! I have finished to buy all my presents and I have wrapped them all up! I still need to write a few more cards and we also need to get the Christmas tree. We are going to get a tree on Friday, I can not wait any longer!
This morning, I went to a Christmas party organized by my work for the children. Adam and Jake had a great time...Jake was not too sure of Father Christmas! Seeing Father Christmas reminded me of my childhood!
That year, Father Christmas was loosing his beard. How funny it seems now! I probably did not realized then!!

M for Holland...

I am off to Scrap-a-Ganza at the week end. We have been asked to make a big chipboard letter and here is my big M for Myriam!

Worshipful Company of the Water Conservator...

Martin belongs to the Worshipful Company of the Water Conservator. Last Thursday, it was the Annual Banquet in London. It was hold at the Drapers Hall which is lovely.

We had to stay in London overnight, so Richard and his girlfriend Rainbow looked after the children for us. For this occasion, I decided to go to the hairdresser's and have my hair put up. Here is the result! It looked amazing, I could not have done anything like this myself!

I also had to get a new dress which was not hard at all! I got it in Bluewater a few weeks ago with my friend Louise. It was so much fun to get a proper dress!!!

During the evening, the masters which is a lady Sue presented a couple of certificates...One of them was presented to Martin!!! As Jake was born after Martin became a Freeman of London, he will be entitled at the age of 21 years to be admitted as a Freeman of the Water Conservators Company by Patrimony. He was presented a lovely Certificate and a bottle of Champagne!!!!Great!!!!

I was so happy for Martin as he looked very proud when he collected the certificate. I had to get up too and was very happy too! It was a lovely surprise.
We had a lovely evening and it was nice to see all our friends. We had a lovely meal and such a great time...Can't wait until next year. One day Baby Jake will be entitled to go...How exciting!

thought the shoe and bow tie on the floor were the perfect illustration to a lovely evening with a few too many drinks!!!!

Fireworks...

Tonight, we went round Steve and Louise for a fireworks party! It was lovely.
Steve had put on a lovely display that we enjoyed sitting in the garden next to the shemneas drinking mulled wine!
The kids loved it apart Phoebe who was scared of them, so she was quite happy to stay indoors. Jake loved it sitting in his pushchair and pointing at the fireworks. He couldn't take his eyes off the bright colors.
This year, Steve had bought a few rockets for Adam and Oliver. As we heard the first rocket going up in the sky, our two little boys disappeared under the table...They were so funny. Their teacher Mrs Smith had told them to make sure that the rockets didn't end up on their head!!!!

After, the fireworks display, we had a lovely meal. We had moussaka which I love, it was so yummy. We had a lot to eat and drink...I nearly felt asleep!!
We drank some champagne to celebrate Jake's first birthday as we did last year to celebrate his birth.
It was a lovely evening...
